Tanglin Camp |
|
In 1860, a 210-acre site in Tanglin, comprising mostly nutmeg plantations, was purchased by the former government, with the intention of providing housing for military troops on the island. The construction of large, airy, single-storey colonial buildings with large pillars and high ceilings, were scattered across the expanse of this plot of land. These decommissioned buildings previously housed The Medical Classification Centre, Officers' Personnel Centre, Naval Training Department, SAF Careers Centre and the Central Manpower Base of the Singapore Armed Forces.
