Tom Na H-iu. 2006
Mixed media installation
The shape is similar to megaliths of Celtic sites of worship. Japan also had cult sites with similar functions. The hull of the half-transparent sculpture consists of special glass with embedded computer-controlled LED-light sources. A computer is connected to the Super-Kamiokande, which is the currently largest neutrino observatory in the world situated near the Japanese city Kamioka. The light inside the sculpture changes in accordance to the neutrinos (elementary particles) found by the Super-Kamiokande.
