Written down by Pat Binder and Gerhard Haupt, based on an interview.

Over the last few years I have used this technique which comes from the Cuban folk culture and for the most part is considered "kitsch" by the art world. To begin with, the drawing is applied to a plate of glass with Indian ink, afterwards one uses transparent lithograph ink for the colors. Finally, the background is covered with crumpled aluminum foil to achieve this creased texture.

My first works were inspired by the history of Cuban art of the eighties, but by the nonofficial - for example, scandals connected with the world of politics.

The series I am presenting here refers to the clandestine lottery played in Cuba.
