(Taken from the press release of the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam, August 2000)
The fundamental aim of the seventh edition of the Havana Biennial is the inclusion of architecture and urbanism as artistic manifestations in the exhibitions, conferences and workshops. Renowned specialists from Cuba as well as abroad have been invited to communicate their experiences in interaction with the existing city. The restoration of historic places, the renewal of central zones and the design of public space are a few of the topics that will be addressed in the context of the coming Biennial.
