In various locations in Kassel, popsicles made of pure ice are sold for 1 Euro each. Carlos Basualdo, co-curator of the Documenta 11, writes about this work in the short guide: "On one level it alludes to the imminent and progressive scarcity of water on a global scale, on another it is a continuation of the questioning of the notions of the value of use and the value of change that recur in Meireles's work."
