The appointment of Okwui Enwezor as artistic director of the Documenta11 was regarded as a long overdue opening of this art event. In 1997, more than a year before his appointment, we spoke to him in an interview about documenta X. His opinions and previous projects (see biography) gave reason for the hope that the inclusion of art from Africa, Asia and Latin America would now be more matter of course in a Documenta. This expectation was fulfilled. | |
