| 30 September - 27 October 2002 Haeundae Beach 1.5 km-long beach Artistic Director: Kwang-Woo Kim (Korea) Curator: Yeon In-Mo (Korea) The art festival on this much-visited beach has been taking place since 1987. The majority of participants are nominated by the artistic director and the curator, and then selected by the committee responsible for this part of the Biennale. In order to give a larger number of artists the chance to participate, a competition was held in November 2001 to which models and drafts could be submitted. These were presented in an exhibition in January 2002. The selected works will also be realized at the festival on the beach.
