Exhibition, presented in New York in 2 parts: Guggenheim Museum SoHo, February 6 - May, 25,1998, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, February 6 - June 3, 1998. At the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain, from July 18 to November 1, 1998.

Organized by the Guggenheim Museum in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the National Administration for Cultural Heritage of the People's Republic of China. About 500 works of traditional and contemporary arts. Curator for the traditional section: Sherman Lee, with Howard Rogers, as consulting curator. Julia Andrews is curator of the modern section, together with Kuiyi Shen.
