Non-profit institution, founded in 1997 by Frances Reynolds Marinho. Promotes the exchange and cooperation between Ibero-American artists, primarily those from Argentina, Brazil and Spain. It develops programs in the areas of education, culture, the environment, and community on a local and international scale. Founded by Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, Gustavo Cisneros, and Ricardo Cisneros, in association with the Cisneros Group of Companies. [en, es, pt] The Foundation offers fellowships to further the development of scholars and artists by assisting them to engage in research in any field of knowledge and creation in any of the arts, under the freest possible conditions and irrespective of race, color, or creed. Fellowships are awarded through two annual competitions: one open to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada, and the other open to citizens and permanent residents of Latin America and the Caribbean.
